Guy Hendrickx, DVM, PhD, is the founding CEO of Avia-GIS (Zoersel, Belgium). I have over 35 years of experience in the field of spatial epidemiology and the development of spatial decision support systems for risk management. I am particularly interested in the development of tools that help to bridge the gap between research and decision making in the field of vector-borne diseases and integrated pest management. In this context we are currently bringing to the market, together with our partner Irideon (Barcelona, Spain), an IoT tool package including: VECMAP, a software package to plan the mapping, monitoring and control of mosquitoes and other pests and VECTRACK a sensor to automatically identify mosquitoes entering a trap.
